Privacy Policy
Effective: July 8, 2026
The short version. We designed SkyDebt to know as little about you as possible. Your claim details live in your browser, not on our servers. We don't sell data, we don't run advertising, and we don't use tracking cookies.
1. What we process, and why.
- Claim details you enter (flight facts, and — for paid packs — your name, postal address, email, booking reference, bank details for the letter, and your description of the incident): processed transiently in memory to generate your documents, which are returned to your browser. We do not store these on our servers. They are saved in your browser's local storage on your device so you don't lose your draft; you can clear them anytime by clearing site data. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see your card number. We receive only a payment confirmation identifier used to unlock your purchase. Stripe's processing is governed by Stripe's privacy policy. Legal basis: contract.
- Flight lookups: if you enter a flight number, it and the date are sent to our aviation-data provider (AeroDataBox via RapidAPI) to retrieve public flight-status information. No personal details accompany it. Legal basis: contract / legitimate interest.
- AI-assisted phrasing (optional feature): if enabled, the incident description you write (and relevant flight facts) are sent to Anthropic, our AI service provider, solely to phrase one paragraph of your letter, under commercial API terms that do not permit use of the data to train models. If this feature is off, no data goes to Anthropic and letters use a built-in template. Legal basis: contract.
- Technical data: our hosting provider (Vercel) processes IP addresses and request logs to serve and secure the site, retained for a short period per its policies. We use cookie-free, aggregate analytics (page views, button events) that do not identify you. Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating and securing the service.
- Email (optional): if you submit your email for updates, it is stored with our email provider until you unsubscribe. Legal basis: consent.
2. What we don't do. No sale of personal information, no sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, no advertising cookies or pixels, no accounts, no data brokers, and no server-side database of your claims.
3. Sharing. Only with the service providers named above, strictly to provide the service; with authorities if the law genuinely requires it; or in connection with a transfer of the business (under the same protections).
4. International users. We operate from the United States, and the providers above process data in the U.S. If you use SkyDebt from the EU, UK, or elsewhere, your information is processed in the U.S. under the safeguards our providers offer (including standard contractual protections where applicable).
5. Your rights. Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to your local data-protection authority. Because we store almost nothing, most requests are satisfied by clearing your browser's site data; for anything else — including anything held by our providers on our behalf — contact support@skydebt.app and we will respond within the time required by law. We do not discriminate against you for exercising rights.
6. Retention. Claim details: not stored by us (browser-side only, under your control). Payment records: retained by Stripe per its legal obligations. Logs: short-term per Vercel. Email list: until you unsubscribe.
7. Security. All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). The strongest protection is architectural: information we never store cannot leak from us.
8. Children. SkyDebt is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly process their information.
9. Changes. We'll post updates here with a new effective date. Material changes will be flagged on the site. Contact: support@skydebt.app.
